Today was a complete loss, so here's another from yesterday: This perfect
view of Mt. Rainier as we approached Seattle.

Aside from visiting with my siblings,the other goal of my visit is to
scatter some of Neal's ashes at the section of St. Petersburg beach my
sister and her husband love to visit. The big pink building off in the
distance is the Don Cesar hotel, where they got married.
I told Neal to watch over them. :)

I need to find out exactly where it was. I feel the need to keep track of
all the different places the ashes end up. Maybe I'll compile all the photos
into The Book of Neal when it's all over.

Eat our Frost Snowshoe today - we shooed up Tumalo Mountain. It is only 3
miles round trip but It literally felt like we were snow shoeing straight up
the side of the mountain. After all that work it was fogged in at the top.
So, you got a picture of some frosty trees. Kind of arty.

Guess what we had today? SNOW! Guess what we're having tomorrow and
Saturday? SNOW! Guess what we're having next week? MORE SNOW!

We had a ton of snow & cold in December and in January - not so much, In
fact we are having spring-like weather (well Bend spring-like - low 50's).
We went hiking today at Smith Rock - here is our trail across from the
bridge. It is called Misery Ridge - I believe it is because the trail keeps
going up and up and up ...

Snowshoe day with the ladies snowshoe group (Eat our Frost). We went to Big
Meadow and got a nice view of Mt. Bachelor. This area is also a popular
snowmobiling spot.

For anyone who might not know, I’m going to be late finishing Year 2; I’ve
been crazy-busy when not dealing with being technically “crazy” in the first
place. Anxiety makes for interesting times! Meanwhile, here’s one of those
‘did I *really* get that shot?’ moments. I love how the angle of the cloud
raft makes it look like the nearly-full moon is peering cautiously at what
I’m pretty sure is a young bald eagle cruising for an evening snack.

It was a very ducky day! These guys are mallards, most likely resident as
I’ve been seeing skeins like this all winter long. They do love to fly in
nasty weather, though unlike the geese they don’t play in it much.

the ski mountain - Mount Bachelor.

This is a surprisingly frequent winter view from my balcony…the powerful
winds coming down the eastern slope of the Bitterroots can blow snow miles
out into the valley, often under clear skies!
