If I’d gotten this pic earlier in the winter I’d probably have held an
impromptu contest in the comments to see if anyone knows what caused this
funky formation! This is in fact a macro shot of what happens when freshly
vented air from our neighbor’s clothes dryer meets subzero cold; our dryer
vents are very short and go directly outside less than a foot from the
source, which is why the top of the pic shows liquid water—it’s still under
the current of hot air, but it makes this funky collection of shapes when
the heat dissipates before the breeze stops.
