Uncle Deadly is also available in a glow-in-the-dark version! I got both,
but the glowing one has to live on the breakfast bar (helping the to-scale
10” Sweetums guard the change jar) because of my eyes. I’d love to know if
this happens to anyone else…I can’t have stuff in my computer room that
glows in the dark! I spend my time on a natural-light cycle because of the
5-foot-wide window behind my monitor, so my computer room is dark quite a
bit. The problem I have with glowy stuff is that while it’s glowing, if I
look directly at it the object disappears! If I look slightly to one side
or another, it shows up bright and clear in my peripheral vision, but if I
look directly at it there simply isn’t anything to focus on…no detail, no
glow, nothing! My other vision problems are quite simple; farsightedness
with a touch of astigmatism on one side but nothing major, and no visible
oddities when I had my eyes examined just a couple of weeks ago.

Yep, if I remember right, the center of the retina (where the optic nerve attaches) has the least number of rods and cones. Sometimes when I try to look at faint stars they disappear until I shift my gaze to one side a little.

You have NO IDEA how happy I am to finally know I'm not the only person who's noticed that phenomenon too!
