I had lunch today with an old grad school mentor who is retiring after 30
years in private practice. He spent a fair amount of energy trying to
convince me that it's time for me to open my own practice, including
offering me several client referrals from his now closing practice. It
frustrates me because while I appreciate the compliment and the trust in my
skills and integrity, I just am not interested in taking such a huge
financial and professional risk. I like the security that comes with
benefits, a steady paycheck, and paid time off! :-/
