I dropped a 5 gallon bucket of paint on my foot at work today. So I ended up
soaking my feet in the pool for a while because since we are just now
refilling the pool it hasn't heated up yet so it was a cool 64 degrees.

Ouch. I bet your tootsies loved that water.
My tootsies did love the water and now that the pool is heating up, they've been trying to find a reason to swim during work hours.
OUCH!
As for swimming just bring an extra set of clothes so when you "Accidentally" fall in you can change LOL
