Irony or coincidence?
The now-Ex-Boyf bought me a diamond necklace three years ago for our one
year anniversary. Since then I've gotten it inspected regularly to keep it
under warranty. I took it today to get it inspected like usual and there was
a diamond loose. I haven't worn the necklace for a couple years so how would
that diamond get loose? Maybe the necklace is broken just like The Ex-Boyf
and I are broken up, but I just thought it was so strange. Not sure what I
should do with the necklace once I get it back from getting fixed because
I'm not wearing it again.

Keep it - you never know if you will have children - they may want it...it is a part of you and that is important!
I agree with Jody. Or at least keep it around for a while. You don't want to regret getting rid of it because of what feeling you might have right now.
I have a ring from an ex that I dated for a many years. I swore I would throw it out. I still have it. I buried it deep in a junk drawer and every once and while I find it. It brings back happy memories of the times we have. Yes I don't wear it but I know Bailey will love it one day.
Kinda spooky, eh?? I would keep it and then at some point when the jerk-off (my new name for him) is out of your heart/mind - get it made into something else.
I agree with Lynn. First of all, spooky for sure. And I wouldn't get rid of it... but when you've had some time to heal, I'd take that sucker and reset it into something else and enjoy the crap out of it. Enjoy the diamond instead of leaving it in the drawer where it brings back nasty feelings.
lynn & jean, i like your idea. i don't think i want to get rid of it, because i won't get nearly as much as he paid for it. but i thought maybe i can use the diamonds and get something else made... don't know what thought because i don't wear rings.
Necklace or Tiara :)
Agreed. Necklace that YOU choose, or maybe a bracelet. Or earrings? Whatever YOU want. That's what counts, I think.
