
I’ve no idea what species of damselfly this is, as the field guide is
missing a lot of photos. The lot across the street and slightly west of us
is chock-full of grasshoppers and damsels, though, and ranks as the driest
place I’ve ever seen damselflies!

I am still keeping my eyes peeled for a damselfly.
Go someplace with tall grass and slow or still water, if you can. I usually spot them by their shadows moving on the ground or by the iridescence of their wings even before I can focus eyes or camera on that unreal blue :)
