So - Mr. Murphy has been having problems with one of his legs recently. We
first saw it a few weeks ago, when he was chasing a squirrel. He would yelp
and come limping back to the patio, with his right back leg held up. He
would then lay down and about 5 mins later he would be fine.
We thought he was developing hip problems - but no - after several more
episodes we took him to the vet, and it turns out he needs a knee
replacement - Cha Ching!! $2 -3K
Will let you know how it goes.

Poor guy! I hate having to make those decisions.
Holy cow - I didn't know they did knee replacements on dogs - guess they do everything. Such a little knee - you would think it would be cheaper.
Wow...:( I hope everything works out for the best. thats really hard.
Our dog had both MCL's replaced at once. The trick is to keep them as immobile as possible after surgery. It is a long road but if you are vigilant (hard considering dogs dont always listen!), they CAN fully recover! Good luck to you!
