We hiked up this crater - Belknap. It was kind of a tough hike because you
had to walk on a lava trail to get to the crater - which is really hard on
the footsies plus then you had to scramble up the crater to get to the rim.
However it did have some awesome views of the mountains, some very pretty
rocks and was a fun day spent with friends!

Nice pic! Walking on a lava trail...is it crumbly and slippery like gravel? That's what I would imagine...
Kt it is a bit like walking on marbles. They are small hard nuggest that move around - but not enough to make you fall just enough to give you ankles a really good workout :)
